Giving back to the community is an important value of the American Marketing Association UHM. Because Hawaii is such a small place, we strive to contribute positively to our community. From picking up trash at the beach to cleaning up playgrounds, AMA encourages members to serve and have a positive impact within the community. Throughout the semester we host a number of philanthropy events to get our members out of their comfort zones and help out communities in need.
Events need manpower to be executed properly! At AMA UHM we love to help out your cause anyway that we can. We've volunteered at many events such as, Making Strides Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, the Honolulu Ekiden, and Spartan Race. AMA-UHM is always looking to support different charitable causes through donations and raising awareness for certain issues. Our members love using the marketing skills that they develop in the classroom to give back to others. One way that we are doing that this semester is by putting on a charity event for the Rotary International and having our members involved in the branding and marketing of the event and contacting vendors involved in the event.
